Athletic Club defeated Sevilla FC (1-0) putting an end to their five consecutive winless streak in Liga. The only goal of the match was scored by Fernando Llorente, who scored with a header after receiving a pass from Susaeta. Athletic is eleventh in the overall standings in Liga.
The Match was played at a fast pace and there were good quality plays. Athletic Club came into this match with very little rest because Los Leones played on Thursday against Schalke 04 in San Mamés, whereas the Andalucians played their match last Monday. Although the rivals started dominating the game, in the end Athletic deserved to win this match with more than a one goal advantage. Forty thousand fans packed La Catedral and they fully enjoyed the match.
Liga doesn´t stop, and this Wednesday, Los Rojiblancos will play in Los Carmenes against Granada CF at 20:00 hours. For this match, Javi Martínez will be ready to play.
