At 20:15 hours on 29 August the LNFP (Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional) has certified to Athletic Club that the player Javier Martinez Aguinaga has fulfilled the requirements demanded in the applicable legislation for the valid unilateral termination of the employment contract that bounded him to Athletic Club, having delivered the settled amount of compensation established in the contract through a check deposited by Bayern Munich in name of the player.
Athletic Club would like to express its deception for the decision taken by Martinez, for his not considering our sporting project attractive enough, since this Club understands that it is inherent, essential, for Athletic’s project that their premier team hold the utmost sporting aspiration for all and each one of its players.
President Josu Urrutia will offer a press conference on Monday, 3 September, at a time yet to be determined.
